Types of clothing labels and how to make a label with a logo

The label is your brand's signature. It shows the customer who is behind the garment and how much attention has been paid to detail. If you are creating your own collection, here are the types of labels you can use.

Types of labels

  • Woven jacquard labels – the logo is woven with threads. Most durable and with a premium look; they do not fade with washing.
  • Printed labels (canvas, satin) – with color printing; they allow for more detail and colors and are more affordable in small quantities.
  • Satin labels – soft and smooth, pleasant to the skin; suitable for lingerie and children's clothing.
  • Metal labels – for jeans, bags, and accessories; branded with laser engraving (stock E-series labels) or a moulded relief logo (custom-shaped labels).
  • Care and size labels – mandatory when selling clothing.

Application methods

  • Flat – sewn on all four sides;
  • Center-folded – sewn into the seam (e.g., at the collar);
  • End-folded – sewn on top, classic for branded clothing.
